Release Week: Street Library ed.

This week I've been on a little promotional kick, especially since Through the Darkness enters the world officially!
All around Brisbane, I have travelled to suburbs across the south and north sides of the city, placing my debut novel into street libraries.
I did my research on https://streetlibrary.org.au/.
I didn't want to focus solely on my local area so I went everywhere that I knew would have decent foot traffic. I also needed a lot of back ups in case some were full — that happened to me on day one and didn't have a back up close by ...
As these libraries are by businesses and homes, I mastered the skill of subtlety to ensure that I haven't accidentally doxed someone, but also provide you with enough to know where you can find a free copy.
I skipped a second book drop on Wednesday to organise my website, so now you all can purchase the ebook directly from me. Then, Thursday (release day) I continued on my quest. Only this time, many along my route were full.
If I have better luck on Friday, I'll be adding to this blog post, mark my words lol.
Going around to the street libraries was a great way to get out of my comfort zone, without socialisation.
As the year goes on, I'll also do more promotion for my next project: Like the Tide.
If you sign up to my newsletter, March's entry will go into a bit of detail about my characters and Endometriosis (which is the theme of the novel with a little bit of domestic and family violence - both male and female victims) for Endo Awareness Month.
While I am curious to know if any of the copies I dropped have been taken, I'm also not.
Through the Darkness will find their homes eventually, maybe take up shop in the libraries for a while. Who knows, maybe they'll be moved around to other libraries.
My aim with this was more for publicity.
I'm a small local author in a big sea of people, maybe in amongst other small local authors. This was a means of getting myself out there, and now that I have, I will let the readers do their thing.
An Unexpected Update:
I am currently having a pricing issue with my paperback. No, I do not want you all paying more than needed.
Barnes and Nobel has the right pricing, Amazon should update soon, and I will try to sort Dymocks and Booktopia's pricing as well.
Not sure why the costs are all over the shop, but anyway, I've sorted it on my end, now it's a matter of waiting for the online shops to adjust.
